Where I use Whitman's words to illustrate my drawings and our protean (ever-shifting, hard to pin down) existence.
I Contain Multitudes
Walt Whitman published Song of Myself in 1855. It's a 52-section poem. For this story I've used Section 51 in its 1892 edition, ever so slightly adapted to fit the drawing's layout.
Since I was making some ideas for new stamps for myself, I kept thinking of this "I contain multitudes" sentence, not knowing where it came from. Good old Internet helped me find the origin and for some reason it works beautifully with my loose, made-thinking-of-nothing drawings.
